Foundation History

Agrani Sanskritik Parishad was founded in 1962 by a small group of culture-loving residents who dreamed of keeping Bengal’s rich artistic heritage alive in their neighbourhood. What began as a modest gathering around adda, recitation and music slowly grew into one of the most loved cultural institutions of the area.

Over the decades, the Parishad has organised its annual Durgotsab with devotion and grandeur, alongside year-round programmes of music, dance, drama, recitation and social service. Generations of members have carried forward the founding spirit — agragami, always moving forward — while staying rooted in tradition.

Today, Agrani Sanskritik Parishad stands as a living bridge between the old and the new, welcoming every member of the community into its cultural family.
